3 Ways to Look at Friendship was a poem that I wrote as a sort of hybrid of multiple mentor text. Every poem I write comes from emotion and influence. When I wrote this poem, I tried to relate to other teenagers and the problems they face. Everybody will tell you how people will peer pressure you in high school, but nobody ever addresses how to make friends or the benefits of friendship. I don't know where I'd be without mine. You invest so much into building relationships; it's a gamble.

The poem above is my "audience" favorite; however, A Candle Lost in Fame is my favorite. the beauty of this poem is that you need to know a tad of musical history. Anybody who knows the story of Kurt Cobain should be moved by this. Unintentionally, the poem is set up like a timeline -- starting at his birth and ending when Cobain reaches the eternal Nirvana. This is something that I just sat down and wrote and needed very little edits; that's how you know it's something worthy of reading. When I poem comes so natural, it's surged onto paper with a pen motivated by pure passion.
