Percy Shelley is a morbid poet, but that is what sets him in the same tides as all the other legends -- like Sylvia Plath for example. More famously, his wife Mary Shelley wrote the illustrious Frankenstein. So like his wife's work, his writing never strays from the grim and gruesome.
I chose Shelley because I knew he was not commonly know and quite unique. Secondly, I've recently wrote my own take on Autumn; mine was not as depressing though. I sought to bring the pros and cons to light while Shelley focused on the seasonal death of Earth. I remember reading about Seasonal Depression is psychology, perhaps he suffered from this. How else could he not find the beauty in Autumn like he would in every other season.
His diction was impeccable. His words flowed so smoothly with rhyme, yet they were not forced; they seem to fit just right. This is how you know a true poet of the soul. Immaculate. Rare. Thought provoking.
